article Japanese fashion retailer and retailer-of-choice for men’s and women’s jeans, Yoyogi, announced on Thursday that the brand would begin selling jeans in the country.
The move comes after a string of fashion trends have seen denim prices drop in Japan, with many retailers citing an abundance of demand for denim in the market.
“We are proud to announce that we are expanding our denim business with Yoyogis denim brand in Japan,” Yoyogo president Yasuyuki Fukumoto said in a statement.
“We are offering a new range of styles and sizes and a new design, which will be available exclusively to our customers.”
According to Yoyago, the new jeans are “a new, unique denim that reflects the brand’s heritage, the essence of our brand and our heritage as a denim brand”.
“The new style of Yoyozi jeans is the most comfortable, stylish, practical and fashionable in the Japanese market,” Yayoi Co-founder Toshihide Takahashi said in the statement.
“We have created the best jeans, which are unique and distinctive.
We have created a unique brand that combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary trends.”
The Yoyoi brand, which was launched in 2010, has a history of being popular among Japanese men.
In 2016, the brand sold over 4 million pairs of jeans, with over 1.3 million in sales last year, according to the Japanese website Yoyo-ko.
According the Japan Times, the jeans were designed with a “modern look” that incorporates “slim-fitting, flexible and stylish fabric, a breathable fabric with the classic silhouette and classic denim style”.
The brand’s new line of jeans will debut in stores in April and will include styles for men and women, with a wide range of prices, according the Japanese newspaper.
The denim is said to be “an evolution of the Yoyobudo brand”, which started as a small denim retailer in 2005.
Yoyogas denim range includes a range of denim styles and styles of casual jeans.
“Yoyozis jeans are a new product that we have developed in collaboration with our partners in Japan and are going to be available in Yoyoji stores across Japan, including stores in Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo, Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagoya,” Takahash said.
As well as its flagship brand, Yayo-bo, YOYO also offers a range which includes denim jackets, denim jeans, jeans jeans shorts and denim jeans socks.
