Small, bold and stylish, men’s clothing brands are embracing a new, minimalist aesthetic as their industry becomes increasingly saturated with designer goods and products that can appeal to both men and women.
Aussie company Aussie Clothing and Shoes has released a range of stylish menswear pieces that are designed for women, and offer a mix of functional and functional basics, which is a far cry from the typical designer fashion trend.
“Our goal was to create the most stylish men’s and women’s apparel for the masses, that we could afford to manufacture and to be able to deliver,” said Aussie founder and CEO, David Larkin.
“We wanted to make men’s wear the most comfortable and attractive apparel possible, so that when you go out for a night out, you feel like you’re having the time of your life.”
To help get the message across, the company has been producing bespoke, limited edition mens clothing products, and a limited range of womens fashion pieces.
“When you look at our products, they’re not designed to look like anything you’re going to find in a big department store, it’s more about looking stylish and fashionable, which has really been the core of our brand,” said Mr Larkin.
“The company has partnered with a number of brands, including Men’swear Magazine, as well as fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, and has a strong focus on sustainability.”
A lot of men’s fashion is based on the idea of ‘how do we save money, we can’t afford to buy new clothes every year’,” Mr Lacey said.”
The fact is that we are going to have to make the best possible products we can to keep our industry sustainable, so we’re really focusing on our customer experience.””
The Maternity Leave Act is a huge opportunity for women who are working, particularly in the manufacturing sector, to make their own clothing,” he said.
It’s not just the brands that are investing in sustainable products.
Aussie clothing also offers a variety of products, like mens shoes, for sale online.”
For us, it was really about giving back,” Mr Lacerds said.
While the majority of the company’s business is focused on providing the best quality, the Australian consumer is also increasingly interested in buying men’s clothes.”
Australian men have a much higher interest in clothes than we do,” Mr Stokes said.
A study by Australian Consumer Bank found that the average household spends $3,800 on clothes each year.
