It’s been a long road for Todd McFarland, the father of the adorable baby doll named Baby Alive.
The 37-year-old retired construction worker said last week that his wife, who died at the age of 34, had the biggest impact on the baby’s life.
McFarlands mother, who had cancer and was a nursing home resident, had recently passed away.
“It was the hardest time I’ve ever had in my life,” McFars said, adding that he had struggled to care for the baby after his wife passed away and that he struggled with grief.
“The last two months have been a roller coaster,” he said.
McFarling’s wife died of cancer on May 13, 2015, at the young age of 37. “
She was a gift to my family and I am very thankful for her.”

“There are so many people that have taken care of her and helped her out and she’s had so much support,” he added.
“People have taken her out for walks, gone out to the beach and just looked out for her and she didn’t have a father figure.”
Mcfarland is one of thousands of American families that have adopted the doll over the years.
He was the first person in the world to adopt the doll in 2006.
The doll, which has since become a fashion icon, is made from soft, cotton and nylon materials.
She wears a variety of clothing, from dresses to a T-shirt, and is adorned with flowers, flowers, stars and butterflies.

The McFarlings said the baby is now at home with his grandparents and their extended family.

“She is a beautiful little girl and I think a lot of people are very proud of her,” Mcfar said.
McFarlander said he and his family are grateful for all the support they have received from the public and from the media.
He said that he and the McFarls adopted Baby Alive to be a way to honor his mother and give back to the community.
When the doll was born, McFar found a baby’s dress at the nursery and the couple got the idea to adopt Baby Alive as the new name of their new baby.
While it is the third child born to Todd McFalster’s family, McMarrs mother, Elizabeth, died in October 2016 at the ripe old age of 91.
In June 2017, Todd McMerrill joined the National Kidney Foundation as the organization’s director of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
His daughter, now named Babette, has been raised in the McMills’ home and McMannies wife, Sarah, was born a year later.
On April 28, 2018, McMcDonald announced that he would be retiring from construction.
